Men's ministry

Who We Are

Men's Ministry at FCBC exists to glorfiy God by pointing the affections of all peoples to the all-satisfying person of Jesus Christ.

What We Do

We work to disciple men to love Jesus, worship Jesus, and live on mission for Jesus. We do this through building relationships, providing resources, and hosting regular events and gatherings. We desire to see men at FCBC connected relationally, cultivated in their spiritual growth, and confidently pursuing their calling to serve others in and through the gospel.

Events

Join FCBC's men for a 12-week study of Ecclesiastes which tackles life's big questions like: why some seem wise while other don't, why bad things happen to good people, and whether simple joys are worth embracing.
Whether you've "tried everything to stop" or are a dad wanting to equip your son to become a man of integrity, this 4-week (men only) event will grow your understanding of addiction and healing while offering practical guidance.
Join us for our next Men's Breakfast on Saturday, may 4th, from 8:00-10:00 a.m.! Dan True will be speaking on some of the ways we can serve one another by way of the Deacons ministry, which will be a new thing at FCBC starting this year!

Discipleship

What is a Disciple?

A disciple is a student or a leaner… and as believers we seek to be disciples of Jesus Christ. Jesus had 12 main disciples that He poured into, taught, and guided. When Christ ascended into heaven, he left these disciples (with the power of the Holy Spirit) to go into ALL THE WORLD. Those disciples then went out and made disciples who also made more.

1 Corinthians 10:31 – 11:1 gives us a clue to what this looks like: “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” and “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.”

The goal of discipleship at FCBC is to make more disciples just like the original 12 were faithful to do. We want to encourage the men in our church to find someone to disciple them (a Paul), someone to lock arms with (a Barnabas), and someone to disciple (a Timothy). If these terms don’t make sense yet, don’t worry! They soon will.

The goal of discipleship is that we might become more like Christ. We are made new by Him, grown by Him, and lovingly serve Him. If you would like to be a part of discipleship at FCBC, please reach out! We would love to have you join us.

Danny Shaffer

Men's Discipleship Lead

My name is Danny Shaffer, and I am privileged to be able to serve in FCBC’s men’s ministry as the leader of the discipleship ministry. I was raised in the church and while I didn’t always follow Christ as Lord, He has been faithful to deliver me in spite of myself. The Lord has rescued me from many sins, some of which are drunkenness, fornication and rebellion. One of the main ways He brought me to Himself was through the ministry of discipleship through a godly man named Rick. Christ, in Rick, was patient to walk with me through so much and reach a hand down to pick me up when all else was lost. From that point, I have been dedicated to Jesus as Lord and have been chasing Him. I am passionate about one-on-one or small group discipleship because scripture talks about it and God used it to save my life. I would love to share with the men in the church body as much as I can! I am praying for our church as we move to pursue the Lord in this area!

Sexual Integrity

Integrity Groups

How do we love God with our whole heart, soul, mind and strength… when our mind is swimming in sexual fantasy and our heart keeps pulling us into sexual sin? At least 7 out of 10 Christian men struggle with unwanted sexual behavior (like porn). This struggle is made harder by the fact that most men have long felt deep shame, forcing them into the shadows. FCBC Sexual Integrity Groups are places for men to heal from the hurt, trauma and false beliefs that keep them chained to unwanted sexual behavior.
