What a great praise service! Since I have heard many people speculate as to what we'll do in heaven, I think this passage might give us a clear picture of what it is going to be like. In 4:8-11, the four living creatures continually praise God saying "holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty." They do it day and night never ceasing. WOW! When the twenty-four elders hear the living creatures, they fall down and worship casting their crowns before His feet saying, "Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power..." Wow! In 5:8-14 a similar picture is described. When the lamb took the scroll, the living creatures and the elders fell down before Him. What were they holding? Golden bowl of incense which are the prayers of the saints. How cool! Will my prayers be in these bowls? Then they sang a new song, "Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God...and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God..." Wow! This is really a praise fest! As if this isn't enough then the voice of many angels joins in saying, "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing." Then there is even more praise. Every creature in heaven and on earth, under the earth and in the sea said, "To HIm who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever..." Amen. And they all fell down and worshiped. What a praise fest!
Father, You are worthy of all my praise. Jesus, the Lamb, thank you for dying for me and for making me part of your kingdom and one of your priests. Thank you for ransoming me. Prepare me Lord, so that I am ready to join this fabulous choir singing praises to You. Make my prayers be one with Your will so that my prayers will be in the golden bowls full of incense wafting up to your nostrils. Through the blood of the Lamb, Amen.
