Welcome to Faith Community Bible Church
Our Sunday service is held at 10:00 a.m.
What to Expect
Attending church for the first time can be an intimidating experience — especially if you don’t know what to expect. Who am I going to see? What traditions am I going to be surprised by? Will I be asked to do something that makes me uncomfortable? We hope you will find that what features central at Faith Community Bible Church is the person of Jesus Christ. We invite you to experience what the gospel means both intellectually and relationally at one of our Sunday worship services. Here, you can engage with others and learn at a pace that is comfortable for you. We hope that through visiting with us, you will experience the hope, love and joy that comes from a community of people who love Jesus.
In each service we try to explain what we’re about to do and how that connects to the big picture. We feel that the most important aspect of each service should be to consider the claims of Jesus — that he is God himself come to restore and reclaim his broken people — and consider how that claim shapes and transforms our lives.
By any sober evaluation, Jesus is the most famous person in history. No one has been more frequently painted, written about, or sung to. No person has affected human history as much as Jesus.
But who is Jesus really? You are invited to come and let Jesus speak for himself. Through the teaching of the Bible and the examination of his truth claims we hope you see that he is truly worthy of our worship.
Our Mission Statement
"We exist to glorify God by pointing the affections of all peoples to the all-satisfying person of Jesus Christ." We believe this is the most fundamental job of the church, to show the world what (or more accurately who) is worth loving. The trajectory of any individual and hence the trajectory of all cultures can be predicted by its loves. Loving that which is ultimately unsatisfying is what leads many to hopelessness and despair. It is common for men and women to love power, money, sex, pleasure as ends in themselves. But as many can testify, these are very limited in satisfying the deep needs of the soul. By pointing the affections (the loves of men) to Jesus we find a surprisingly inexhaustible source of joy and satisfaction that meets the needs of the soul in an awe-inspiring, self-forgetful sort of way. Standing at the rim of the Grand Canyon produces emotions of joy, awe, fear and wonder. Self is swallowed up in the greatness of the experience. In a similar way, Jesus meets the needs of our soul but in a way very different than we might have expected. We invite you to come and see!
